I think of Pam Baine every single day when I see my 8 year old lab suffer in agony. This is my second Pam Baine Hunter's Gem labrador retriever. I got my first one in September 1998, at 5 weeks old, and she lived for 11 years, but she had Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) and started to go blind at age 5. She was completely blind by age 8. When I told Pam, she lied to me and said that she just found out that one of the dogs in the lineage had PRA, and that an unscrupulous breeder in the area knowingly bred that dog to one of hers. She said 3 others from the litter went blind too. She said it wasn't her fault and that as soon as she found out she stopped breeding the dog. I loved that dog more than anything. In 2010, when I was ready to get a new puppy, I really wanted it to have some connection to my last one (obviously, without the PRA gene). I contacted Pam, and returned to her house in Norco to see her current labs. The modest, pool-less, yard I remembered from a dozen years earlier had been transformed with a beautiful pool and professional landscaping. She had many more dogs than before. If I had researched online, I would have seen some of these complaints against her, but for once I didn't do that. (Lesson learned.) I ended up buying another puppy from her. That dog has severe elbow dysplasia in BOTH elbows. She has had 3 different surgeries over the years (costing at least $4000 each time), years of physical therapy, years of multiple daily medications, and now she needs another surgery. She also has a condition that vets have called "Shaking Head Syndrome". It looks like a seizure. Thank God it doesn't seem to cause her pain or put her in danger of becoming injured. Reading all of these stories about people with similar problems with Pam's dogs makes me sick. How could this supposedly God-loving person have caused such EXPONENTIAL HARM to both the doomed animals she brought into this world and all of their owner families who have loved them and done everything in their power to relieve their suffering? All for what? A few hundred more dollars per puppy? So she could have that pool? How many millions of dollars have been spent trying to help these dogs? I had read that Pam's operation had been shut down due to so many law suits. I saw that her house was foreclosed on and that pool was filled in with dirt. I read that she was living in a trailer on her mother's property. I thought this was over. I cannot believe it is still happening. I pray every day that this woman gets what she deserves. I can't imagine a punishment that could possibly come close to the damage she has instilled. She should not be allowed to OWN an animal, much less breed them. She should be in jail for all of the pain she has caused, not just physically, but financially and psychologically. Please do NOT perpetuate her destruction. Even if you are lucky and escape the *** the rest of us have been through, you will still be contributing to this by supporting Pam financially. The photos attached are from her 2nd surgery in May 2015 and her third surgery in October 2016. It takes at least 6 weeks to even walk more than a few feet. No ball, no fun, no stairs. And never as good as new. Prognosis = deterioration for the rest of her life. Don't let this happen to you.

PLEASE research the pedigree of ANY puppy you are considering purchasing. And think twice before getting one that has Hunter's Gem, Gem, or any derivative of those in its heritage. If I can prevent even one person from going through what I have now been through twice, it will be a blessing.

Guest

Do know this dog? Hunter's Gem White Lace ( YLW ) Hips: OFA38D Elbows: OFEL38 Do you know what that hip score means?

OFA said at 38 months of age this dog has hip dysplasia! "D" for Dyplasia and was still bred!

Go ahead Pamela Baines - please argue this one? It's pulbic information.

So glad I found this site. ALMOST bought a Lab puppy from Pam.

No way now. Sorry for your horrible experience with this breeder.

FYI She is still breeding lab. 2/12/2018

Lies from people with nothing better to do. Hunters Gem white lace is OFA good elbows normal you can contact the orthopedic foundation for animals for verification! And yes I have been retired for a long time!

I have not lied about anything - YOU HAVE! You LIED to us that we were getting soundly bred dogs!

And your precious God will punish you for the MISERY you have brought to so many dogs and people - all for money. You are disgusting. I am now in Idaho for a THIRD time due to an infection in my dog's elbow and could have LOST my dog!! This particular round has cost me ANOTHER $10k and counting - she may need to have further surgery TODAY, depending on the culture results.

I would have gladly PAID you more money to STOP BREEDING DOGS, than all the money I have spent, not just on medical bills, but on travel and accommodations trying to RELIEVE some of the PHYSICAL PAIN that you directly inflicted on my dog.

SHAME ON YOU, PAM BAINE!!! I hope your children know what a SATANIC MONSTER you are.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1650183

Pam, are you being serious?!?!? You're justifying breeding a dog with KNOWN hip dysplasia (according to the OFA reports) because the elbows were good?

Sorry to break it to you but OFA only rates the elbows as "normal" not good, excellent, poor, etc... Gem's White Lace has an OFA report of D for hips. That is enough to remove that dog from your breeding program PERIOD. You are ignorant, and if you supposedly retired then why do you even care or go on these sites to try and clear your name?

The negative reviews far outweigh the positive ones. Like I've said many times before, just stop and go away. You've done a disservice to the dog community (and not only the Labrador community). Why would anyone go out of their way to make up false accusations?

These families are looking for restitution.

A Class Action Lawsuit should be filed against you. You should be in jail.

Sick Doggies

I bought a 3 year old frenchie from them. He is really stunning with strong body and big head! BUT sick. My frenchie got de-barked. No one mentioned anything when I was purchasing him. He has really bad scarring on his trachea from this surgery. On top of that he suffered from small nostrils and large soft palette. Yes of course this is quite common problem with this breed! But if the breeder is aware of this condition they shouldn't be breeding them. The story about why they were selling this dog 'at his age' didn't make sense, but it was a love at first sight and I really wanted him so I ignored all the red flags and went with their lies.. My Frenchie is in great hands now. After his surgery for his nostrils and soft palette his breathing improved but his scaring on his trachea is so bad that his doctor didn't want to touch it until it gets to the point that we don't have a choice. Pam is not answering my calls or texts... I own my dog for 4 months and I haven't received his AKC papers yet. Please learn from me and don't purchase dogs from unethical breeders like Pam. There are many more good breeders with healthy puppies.

Lies ! She was not the breeder of your 3 year old male.

She placed the rescue male with you. If you contact AKC you be able to verify this.

Guest

I got a dog from her also. A lab that arrived ripped up and with Giardia.

In dogs is a protozoan infection that causes diarrhea. The infection can be transmitted from affected dogs to healthy ones through contact with ***, but also through water and soil that contains cysts. Whether canine giardia is contagious to humans is still under debate.

I had two other dogs at home. The lab was treated for a year because her intestinal track was so damaged.

I also had to treat my other two healthy dogs, to keep them safe from this infection.

I can't imagine how filthy the breeders kennels are.

Add to this the insult of her using God in her webpage to have you think she is trustworthy.

Unhappy with Gems White Labs

I wanted to post our experience with Pamela Baine, Gems White Labs. We purchased a puppy from her last Spring. Pamela stated her dogs were AKC, OFA certified and had less than one percent problems with joint issues. Within a few months of having our puppy he began to limp and eventually was diagnosed with bilateral elbow dysplasia and back ankle osteochondritis dessicans (bad arthritis). He has required surgery for both front elbows and an injection with continued medical therapy for his back ankle. So far we have spent over $6700 in medical expenses. The most frustrating part has been from Pamela herself. We attempted to contact her multiple times to alert her of the issue to prevent continued breeding of these parents and future dogs with progressive arthritis and disability. WE HAVE NOT HEARD FROM HER ONCE IN RESPONSE. Secondary to our concern for future puppies and owners we submitted a claim in small claims court and won- but SHE NEVER SHOWED UP. We have yet to hear from her regarding any of these issues. We love our dog dearly but think it is unfair for her to continue to breed dogs with known genetic disabilities. We have filed formal complaints with the AKC and will be filing to have her reviewed by Animal Protective Services. After researching online there appears to be multiple stories of people with similar complaints regarding her as a breeder. I WOULD NOT PROMOTE HER BREEDING BUSINESS AND BUY PUPPIES FROM HER AS SHE IS BREEDING DOGS WITH KNOWN GENETIC DISABILITIES.

We also purchased a dog from Pam in 2009. Our Lab was blind in one eye.

She was so sick the last few years of her life. We loved our Daisy so much, She was such a sweet dog. I dont know how anyone could ever be so cruel to breed dogs that have so many problems. Shame on Pam and her entire family for allowing this!

I hope she has been shut down finally.

Our hearts hurt so much for our sweet Daisy, and she didnt deserve to die the way she did. :(

Guest

We had a very bad experience also. No promises records & very sick dog, Giardia & bone problems...now cancer.

She is only 7.

Report her to the city attorney’s office, BBB, online everywhere. Humane Society, AKC, and all the puppies.com sites.

Guest

My boy Michael was purchased from PAMELA BAINE , he was diagnosed with OCD on his ankle . We had a surgery on him ...

our orthopedic told us that Michael would continue to suffer from arthritis on his ankle... because it is not a lot you can do with OCD .

My poor baby he is on pillls every dayeven so after the surgery.

Guest

Hard to believe she is in business. Pet store owners had to stop selling puppies due to the bad puppy mill breeders.

Really people like Pamela Baine should be shut down. Clearly, 90% of these posts are from people who purchased a dog from her, and the trend is that they have hip, joint, allergy, and a myriad of other health issues. Then too it off with a dose of Guardia. She didn't know it was a protozoan.

No wonder these dogs continue to be sold sickly.

Several vets told me that my champion lineage lab, doesn't even look like a purebred. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BREEDER!

Guest

Thank you for your comment! She is the Satan of dog breeders.

Guest

I had a very similar experience with Pamela Baine. Our dog arrived ripped up, had Guardia, bad flee infestation, allergies & I never got any of the promised paperwork.

This made treatment difficult. Kind of shows how much she really cares about these dogs. She says they have champion lines, and anyone can say that. We reported her the the Animal Control, the City Attorney Office, Lab groups, BBB, AKC, & sites where she advertised & in a few different cities.

She changes the name of her business ofter to stay ahead of the complaints.

She mentions God on her site, so you think she is trustworthy. In the end, I'm sure she'll pay for that, too.

Guest

It is really sad to hear this. I have purchased two puppies from her with no problems at all.

They are great dogs.

In fact, I was looking for her web site to see what litters she had coming up but it seems to be off line. Maybe this is why.

The horrible reviews you're seeing here are not true ! I can identify two buyers who are telling the truth but out of the hundreds of puppies I've produced in 30 years this handful of people make A very small percentage.

My kennels were always spotless ,my place was spotless and you were allowed to go anywhere you want to .I can identify 5 of the breeders who are telling lies !!! out of the hundreds of puppies I've produced in 30 years this handful of lying people make me sick. I was always there day and night to help anyone who needed me! What are you got your dog for me or someone else I was there to help.

My kennels were always spotless my place was spotless and you were allowed to go anywhere you want to see for yourself . Breeding the very best dog available many other breeders have chosen to use my bloodlines after my retirement. I retired four years ago. Some of the people on here are Disgruntled breeders who are not allowed to have my dogs.

They continue to post long after I have retired. I produce service dog for more years than I can count . My dogs background for PRA Clear with current testing. Once DNA testing was available we cleared the entire bloodline for PRA clear with current testing.

When introducing a new bloodline there's always a risk of problems that are unseen. Breeding is not exact science. As far as Giardia goes all of our dogs were vet checked and Snap test to clear them of these problems. Giardia is throughout California and can be passed from dog to human .

The dogs can get it from the dirt water etc. So for those hundreds of people who have been please with my dog over the last 30 years thank you for standing behind me. For those who would believe the word or someone else without facts ,I hope this never happens to you. Anybody can claim anything on the Internet especially this site out facts.

Shame on them! You will stand before God! For those who receive dog that we're not perfect we are sorry. Sadly that is why there is only a one-year guarantee.

Because we are not geneticist it is impossible to always get it right 100 percent but we tried our best. Thank you for reading Pamela Baine!?&

You are a very sad women, pathetic at best. You give reputable breeders a bad name.

If you love your labs so much then why did you churn out labs, Boston Terriers, French Bulldogs, Maltese, etc.. Just to name a few. I've been to your house on Sandy Lane and the fact you do you own dew claw removal in your kitchen without a degree is disgusting! Go preach somewhere else!

Your comments are never welcome here! I hope the IRS gets you for tax evasion, running a business under the table! Your dogs are far from the best. I think you should get professional help as you are in serious denial!

How you can bold face lie on here is absurd. These poor families you've cause so much emotional harm to. I remember you telling me how your puppies afforded you the Hawaii trips.

etc... EXPLOITATION as it's finest here!

Please Beware

I purchased a puppy from Pam in the spring of 2011. After a month he was diagnosed with elbow dysplasia in both legs. Also giardia. It has cost us over $6,500.00. She promised a full refund. Calling Pam for 2 years resulted in a refund of only $400.00. When we went to her house to purchase a dog, she had many dogs and litters in her house, kitchen, back patio. And she claims she doesn't breed enough dogs to be considered a breeder??? I wish I would have posted this 2 years ago and maybe have prevented other consumers who have had this same problem from buying a dog from her. Pam, in my opinion, does not care about the dogs she breeds, only the money it makes her. It is sad she puts the mighty dollar above anything else. Shame on Pamela Baine!!

Yes. My dog had guardia.

The saddest and most expensive was the surgery for the elbow dysphasia. Today my dog is on pain meds and walks with a limp.

Guest

Your Pamela Baine had Guardia too?!?!?!

She's the worst breeder I've seen so far. Her kennel situation must be a filthy mess.

Guest

The dog I purchased from Pamela Baine, Hunters Gem, also had Giardia. Treatment was costly.

Huntersgem labs or Gem's White Labs Puppymill!!!!!!

Hello there, I am writing to confirm this breeder is a puppy mill, she breeds numerous dogs and has sick dogs with genetic problems. she ripped me off twice with stud service and gave me a dog with a botched surgery performed by Dr. Butchko! She like to throw her religion out there as a sales technique, I have been in here back yard and she has 50+ dogs. Run for the hills, her dog is not even an AKC champion, just an International one which means nothing! She carries Demodectic mange, as well as seizures in her lines. She even had a dog with 2 broken front legs that never rec vet care! Her address is 6615 Sandy Ln. Avoid her at all costs not good breeder would broker out their dogs like she does. Farm raised is another term for puppy mills! She is not licensed! Nor does she give legit paper work for her dogs. She is a broker, who have multiple other breeders consigning her dogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fake, Fake, Fake!!!!! Uneducated P.O.S!!!!!!!!! She is ruining all breeds associated with her name, she has bred; LABS, CANE CORSO, BOSTON TERRIERS, FRENCH BULLDOGS, MALTESE, PUGS, ETC... Just to name a few. Does that sound like a private breeder? No! Commercial puppy mill? Yes!!!!! She is going t be reported to the ASPCA next! As well as the county humane society!!!!! Fraud!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guest

Bought our white lab from Pam Baines 4 1/2 years ago. She seemed fine, although we know several of her litter mates had problems - one dying from seizures.

Recently she began limping and we've found out she has elbow dysplasia in both legs.

A family member also purchased from her and her dog's toes are turned sideways, she was told the puppy would grow out of it and of course it didn't - it's a genetic malformation. Don't know if she is still in business but she is extremely unethical and I don't recommend purchasing a dog from her

Guest

Be very careful, she is now under Gem's Service Labs.

Guest

Hunters Gem, Pamela Baine, Dr Butchko...all a scam! Pamela uses God in her conversation, so you'll trust her.

(Until she curses abscenities at you) She runs a filthy outdoor breeding fascility & sells sick dogs. You'll never get paperwork on your dog, probably because there isn't any.

Information Update for Hunters Gems, Gems White Labs

The address for them is no longer on Sandy Lane. It is now at her mother's (Elizabeth Hakes) home (who carries the kennel license) at 2796 Dix Hill Road, Sun City, CA 92585.

I accidently clicked the "I had the same issue button" in an attempt to read more reviews. Fortunately for my family we purchased two healthy wonderful puppies from Hunter Gem Labs.

(About 5 years ago.) They are both great dogs. I was actually looking for her web site to keep an eye on upcoming litters.

It appears to be down now. So sorry to hear about the families that purchased sick puppies or had a bad experience.

You are an idiot- Just stop Pam, no one wants to hear your nonsense anymore. Just go away.

You have produced how many dogs in 30 years? Hundreds? If not thousands? Wow commercial puppy-mill!

Good breeders breed on demand with a waiting list and with purpose! Churning out puppies for nothing other than monetary gain?!?!? Please post for the public all your AKC breeding labs over the past 30 years (and the AKC reg #'s) and their OFA results then if we are all liars! Giardia is a Protozoan, yes, but's it's more commonly seen in kennels of high volume and from a dirty environment.

My dog got whipworms while in your care for stud service (from your horses!). Stop with your garbage! You want to make good with everyone?

Refund them their surgical expenses or refund their purchase price. Narcissistic sociopath!

Shain Fjg

A friend of mine bought a french bull dog two years ago for a reduced price with the agreement that she would breed her twice and split the litters of the two litters. The other day my friend took her dog to her for the breeding and then Pamela Baine refused to return the dog to my friend.

She is so upset. She loves her and she was a house dog for the two years she had her. The dog is now being housed in an outside, open kennel with a dog house. Ms.

Baine made this agreement and backed out after two years. She needs to be shut down IMMEDIATELY!!!

Hunters Gem is dishonest. I bought a puppy, rec'd papers from dogs I had never heard of or seen.

Pam, owner of Hunter's Gem Labs in Riverside, is so dishonest. She will tell you what you want to hear before purchase, show you dogs who are not the parents. I received papers from her from another breeder and Pam would not provide a written health guarantee. She said I would get the correct papers and never did. I called AKC and there was no litter registered to her the day my pup was born. She has at least 30 labs plus puppies on her property when we were on a tour. She is very much like a puppy mill, don't buy a dog from her.You do not know what you are getting and I have personally corresponded with others who have bought her dogs who have had problems, like Steve. The minute you have an issue, you will never hear from her again.

Pam, Please call or email me.

I couldn't get the promised, and paid for, paperwork! This made treating the very sick puppy I received difficult.

Wonder what she thinks God thinks of that? I say this because she uses God in her add and on the phone so you assume she is honest.

Guest

Pam Please Call Me.

Guest

Not sure if you have gotten your papers yet, but according to California's puppy lemon law, she has to produce them. Contact the Riverside County DA!

Guest

I purchased a french bulldog and got the papers. When I went online to register my dog it stated that there were 3 females and 3 males in the litter already registered.

I have tried emailing Pam a few times and refuse to talk to her on the phone due to not being able to have everything in writing.

I just need my papers. I have contacted AKC and the better business bureau and I hope this gets resolved.

Little paws of mine AKA LITTLE PAWS OF MINE

Updated by user Apr 18, 2011

Little Paws of mine is Not the same business as Hunters Gem

Original review Apr 18, 2011
I would like to share my experience with HuntersGem Farms: On January 13, 2011, I drove from Texas to California to purchased a white female puppy from HuntersGem Farms, aka HuntersGem Labs in Riverside, California. This puppy was bought from HuntersGem with full registration at a price of $1800. On February 22, 2011 and March 4, 2011, Mange was diagnosed and confirmed by two separate veterinarian area clinics. (SEE PICTURES ABOVE) Before the medical condition appeared, I had the puppy's dewclaws removed; micro chipped her, registered her with AKC, registered with AKC-CAR for life, and has given all vaccinations to date. Since the mange diagnosis, I have provided medication and visits to the veterinarians for the two opinions at a cost of over $289.59 to date. On March 30, 2011, during our first phone conversation since the diagnosis, I was told I must "prove" the puppy is from HuntersGem On the day I notified the breeder of the mange, I offered to drive the puppy to California from Texas so their vet could examine the puppy, which they declined, saying they do not cover this hereditary illness. I was told that HuntersGem "doesn't cover mites of any kind because veterinarians couldn't determine which mite her puppies have"…??? . This puppy is absolutely BEAUTIFUL; such a sweetheart, and of course, we have fallen "head over heels" in love with her. Although, she will make a fabulous pet for someone, we cannot breed her and therefore cannot put her in the show ring; it will be extremely difficult to give her up. I am totally flabbergasted as to why they won't do something. This has been a total nightmare. This puppy has become a very expensive pet for me. I am incurring expenses each day. HuntersGem will not refund the difference between full and limited registration which is only $600.00, Hunters Gem Labs absolutely refuses to remedy this situation. All I wanted HuntersGem to do was to honor their warranty and replace the puppy, take the puppy back for a full refund, or refund the difference between the full and limited registration plus vet bills. I am completely astounded by this whole experience. I hope this post will encourage this breeder to reevaluate this situation. They have not. Only running from their responsibilities and changing the name of this breeder

I found it odd that a breeder with puppies that have Guardia, wouldn't know that is a protozoan, especially when she claims to have taken puppy to a vet, and said she worked for the vet.

We bought a white lab from Pam and we absolutley love our dog Sassy. Pam is a very sweet and honest person, and we have had no probelms with our dog which is now 4years old.

Sassy is the sweetest and obediant dog anyone can ever wish to own, which is why we are returning this week for our second puppy. Thanks Pam for breeding such wonderful dogs

I had a really goo experience with huntersgem labs when I purchased my first dog. He is smart and obedient.

The perfect dog. I was so impressed I purchased a second dog from huntersgem labs a year later. The dog was fine at the beginning but them began showing a hereditary allergy condition that was costing me too much. I brought it up to the breeder and all of a sudden she was no longer the nice lady was sold me that puppies.

She is quick at selling puppies but when something does not go her way she is completely different person. Rude and brings god into the picture to try and cover her every claim.

I have yet to receive a replacement puppy from almost 7 months now. I am giving her until the end of the year and may need to take her to small claims court.

Guest

I would love to be able to comment on the quality and beauty of this breeder's dogs, but after two weeks of trying to even see the facility or any of the dogs I have given up. The breeder's website at www.gemswhitelabs.com clearly states "we welcome visitors ANY day after 1pm", but several times this breeder has told me to come on another day - giving me the runaround and lame excuses.

She has been consistently rude and cold on the phone, when she even answers it or returns phone calls. She eventually invited me to come on a certain day and offered me an address, but that day came and went - she wouldn't even return any of my phone calls.

I guess that's what they call a "scheduled appointment". I wouldn't count on this breeder fulfilling any promises - warranty or not.

Guest

I also had an exxperience with Hunters Gem. Not pleasant at all.

I placed a deposit on a puppy and was promised a white lab on the next litter which was suppose to be a month from the time I contacted her. I waited and waited, well past a month, then looked on her site and she had bred and sold atleast two different litters without contacting me at all. I emailed her and questioned her on it and she advised me that she did not have a pup that was white and blocky like I was looking for. So, In good faith, I bought her story,.

Waited and waited again, nothing. This time when I contacted her, she gave me the same sort of runaround, and I requested my dep back. She then began calling me horrible names and using profanity in her emails, which I still have and have filed in a bad breeder file. I in turn told her to keep the money and choke on it.

I just wanted to be rid of her and did not want to purchase anything from her at all. Washed my hands of her. I in turn have purchased two gorgeous females from little paws of mine, and stephanie Brazeal which I was sooo totally thrilled with. The dogs are gorgeous and everything I could have wanted.

Please do not mistake Stephanie at Little Paws of Mine as being affiliated with Pam from Hunters Gem. Although Stephanie does own some of pams pups. They are not one in the same. Very sad to me that a breeder does people like this.

Money is not so important that you have to do people wrong. YOu have to make some sort of ammends if a buyer is dissatisfied, or atleast I would have to....

HUNTER'S GEM IS AWESOME!

Steve, I am sorry you had this problem, but I love Hunter's Gem and it is difficult for me to hear you slander them. I have purchased two different puppies from Hunter's Gem(one in 2006,and one this past month).

The first lab has been nothing short of amazing. He is smart, friendly, well mannered...the perfect dog. My next door neighbor owns his sister who is equally amazing. Every person that comes into our homes asks where we got the labs because they are so impressed with their appearance, temperment, and how smart they are. I just went back to Hunter's Gem and purchased another puppy a couple of weeks ago.He is simply the best! She is the only one I wanted to get another puppy from.

I have known Pam, the breeder, since 2006 and have had many, many conversations with her in person, on the phone, and through email. She loves her dogs and always puts their welfare first. She is extremely knowledgeable and has been breeding labs most of her life. She spends time with her customers and answers all their questions.

She won't sell her puppies to anybody that she feels won't give them a good home. I have extensively walked her property and met her dogs. I know most of them by name. Pam is a giver and she really cares.

Steve, I am confused by the circumstances of your situation. I have been told that you too are a breeder of labs and are actually competitive with Hunter's Gem. Maybe there is a conflict of interest here. I highly recommend Hunter's Gem to everybody.

Pam is wonderful and I can't imagine my life without the labs she bred for me. They are of the highest caliber.

Let me rephrase: Demodex and sarcoptes are not that common in that it is rare that a breeder would feel the need to include a clause in their warranty agreement regarding such a diagnosis.

Again, I don't think I have ever read a clause from a breeder stating they will not honor a warranty due to the diagnosis of demodex or sarcoptes.

Both of these can be costly to treat.

In the case of demodex, it can be a long term problem that flares periodically.

And it is not a good idea to breed a pet that has been diagnosed with demodex. Sarcoptes is something that can spread to other pets in the household as well as humans.

Just checked out the Hunters Gem website. Went to the "puppies too" page. Huge red flag. If a breeder has to post that dogs are not guaranteed for mites of any kind and that vets cannot properly diagnose them.... sounds like they may have an ongoing issue with their line that they don't want to cover. If they recommend that your dog be on revolution for its entire life I can only assume they want to prevent any potential outbreaks of mites. All sounds really fishy to me. To be honest, I don't think I've ever read anything like that before. Demodex and Sarcoptic mange are not very common. For the breeder to actually include that as one of the things they will not cover......

As for vets not being able to diagnose them... totally untrue.

#1 Demodex and Sarcoptes mites look TOTALLY different.

#2. If your vet skin scrapes a pet and finds either one, the diagnosis is pretty darn clear.

Fishy, Fishy.

Little Paws of Mine ROCKS!

I was told by Hunters Gem Labs on two occasions that Hunters Gem Labs was going by another name (Little Paws of Mine). This information named Little Paws as the same business and it is INCORRECT. This is not the same company. What I am trying to say is Little Paws of mine is not the same company so I wanted to post this to clarify. They are a very Good breeder and I regret the post was made by mistake. I am sorry Little Paws for this error. Hunters Gem Labs is the business that does not honor the warranty. Little Paws Is innocent!

Little paws of mine sell doodles so you can’t begin to call them a good breeder. Responsible breeder do not mix breeds and sell mutts at the horrendous price that they do
